September favourites!

Hey my makeup girls.
This one is for you! Hope you girls are studying hard, since it’s midterm season and all. Despite the fact, I thought I would take a break from all the studying (lol actually procrastinating), and post a little something!

We haven't got around to posting a makeup post on the blog yet, so I thought it was about time! I posted a picture on Instagram (@withlovemaryam) a few weeks ago about my September favourites, and said I would post a review, so I thought I would finally get around to doing it! Enjoy girls. xo

1)    Anastasia Beverly Hills Eye shadow palette: 4/5
This palette has been one I’ve been eying for weeks! Literally all the colours in this palette caught my eye, and I knew it would be the perfect palette for a subtle or dramatic eye! The shadows are super pigmented and creamy, and as you can see, I’ve been using it so much! My favourite colours in this palette are “pink champagne” and “morocco” which makes for the perfect eye duo! I give this palette 4 stars because although it exceeded my expectations, I don’t find myself using it as much as I’d like to, and it’s not the first palette I grab. However, I defiantly recommend this palette.

2)    Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette: 5/5
So this palette has been on everyone’s favourites list for FOREVER and ever since Kathleen lights said this was at the top of her list, I thought I needed it in my collection as well! Thanks to my sister (@ashaffee), this palette has been one of my holy grails since I got it! The shadows in here are SO CREAMY, and pigmentation goes a long way! This palette is perfect for everyday, and the mix of shimmer and matte shadows is great for mixing it up! And the lasting power on these is great! I give this palette 5 stars because it is defiantly one of those palettes I reach to first, weather it be for a subtle look or a dramatic look. It is a great neutral palette, and of course I love that it smells like chocolate! Girls, this is a must have in your collection!

3)    Sephora Banana Loose Powder: 4/5
BAKING? No problem! This is the powder for it! The infamous Ben Nye Banana powder has been popular for some time, and this new trend of baking made it easy to love! However, since that powder isn’t the easiest to get your hands on, a great Sephora alternative is the Sephora collection banana powder! Especially for my brown girls, this banana shade sets your makeup perfectly and does wonders for that baking technique! I give this powder 4 stars out of 5 just because I haven’t used this powder as much as I’d like due to the fact that baking takes time, and I just get so impatient while doing makeup! But I do plan to use it more, and not just for baking, but also for just setting my under eye because it is a great powder!

4)    Becca Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop: 5/5
HIGHLIGHT ON FLEEK? Well girls, this is going to do the trick! I’ve been obsessed with this strobing trend, and this is the PERFECT highlighter for the job. Just one swipe of this and it shines bright like a diamond! (LOL) I’ve been addicted to this champagne toned highlighter since I got it, and it’s defiantly a change up from my regular rose gold MAC highlight in  “Soft n Gentle. I give this highlighter 5 stars because it is literally the best highlighter I’ve tried, and trust me when I say, I’ve tried many! It’s so worth it girls, go and get it!

5)    NARS Creamy Concealor: 5/5
This concealer is literally all its amped to be and more! I’ve been holding off on getting it because I thought it would be like every other concealer, but after my girl Amirah (@baiiganchoka) gave it to me, I have been using it every single day! It’s perfect for under the eyes, and really good for dark spots! I give this concealer 5 stars because there hasn’t been a day when I haven’t reached for this! Great concealer and so worth it!

6)    Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit in light (I included a dupe as well) 3/5
Well, I’ve wanted this palette since it released, but I’ve been so content with the Elf contour and blush duo that I never thought about it for a while! Then lately I’ve wanted it, and thanks to my cousin Haseenah, I finally got the contour kit that everyone hyped about.  However, the question of it being all that it’s hyped to be, isn’t so true for me. I’ve loved and I think will always love the Elf Blush and contour duo in the shade Turks and Caicos, because not only is the pigmentation way better than the ABH palette, but just one swipe equals the same as 3 swipes of the contour shades in the ABH palette. The only upside of the ABH palette is the banana shade which is perfect for on the go, and all you need is just one swipe. And because of these reasons, I give this palette 3 stars, but judging by the fact that I hit pan,  I defiantly give the elf duo 5!

So the question remains if I recommend this palette??? I do for the girls who can’t get their hands on the Elf duo, but if you do get the elf duo, I recommend that in a heartbeat! For the price and pigmentation, it’s the best bet!

That's it girls! Hope you enjoyed my little spiel on makeup products, but as you know, I am a huge makeup lover, so look forward to many more of these!
 With love,
Maryam xo
